The Upper Chesapeake Community Band was founded in 1994. They are an all-age, all-volunteer organization whose purpose is to provide concert music for the surrounding community, and to give adult musicians a way to continue performing after leaving school. The band plays year-round for local nursing homes, retirement centers, civic functions, parades, patriotic celebrations and Christmas concerts. They are supported in part by grants from the Cecil County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council, and by the Rising Sun American Legion. In addition to concert appearances at the Milburn Stone Theater in North East, Maryland and Hart’s Amphitheater, they have also performed at the Apple Festival several times over the years, and we are happy to have them back again for 2017!

With members ranging in age from 13 to senior citizen and coming from all walks of life, the Upper Chesapeake Community Band is always looking for new musicians! If you play an instrument, or once played an instrument, and would be interested in joining, or are interested in having them play at your event, contact them through their website here.
